Mark the areas for ceremony, dinner, dancing, the bar and catering first. Then decide which need cover at the same time. A tent that fits your tables may need additional space for a dance floor or lounge, and the pole positions affect where tall decor can go.
1. Use warm string lights to define the dining area
The curved canopy already gives the room a focal point. Warm string lights can trace that shape while table lighting brings attention back to the guests. Share the lighting design, power needs and proposed attachment points with the tent team before installation; lighting is a selected option, not an assumed part of every rental.
2. Frame the ceremony with flowers
An arch, freestanding arrangements or grounded greenery can frame the ceremony without decorating every surface. Coordinate their position with the aisle and the pole layout. Ask the tent team to review any proposed attachment; hanging flowers or drapery are not automatically approved loads.
3. Give dinner and dancing their own space
Use a dance floor, lighting and a clear furniture boundary to separate the party from dinner. Leave the bar, service routes and paths between tables usable when guests stand up. A lounge can sit at an open edge if the site and weather plan allow it.
4. Choose a palette that works with the surroundings
- Garden wedding: greenery, light table linens and flowers that keep the landscape visible.
- Evening reception: warm lights and a restrained palette that still reads clearly after sunset.
- Backyard celebration: a few focal arrangements and furniture sized for the available circulation.
- Contemporary setting: simple table styling and lighting that emphasizes the canopy shape.
What to confirm with your florist, planner and tent crew
- A shared layout showing tables, the dance floor, bar, service routes and tent poles.
- Who supplies and installs lighting, flooring, draping and freestanding decor.
- Approved attachment points and loads before ordering suspended pieces.
- Power access and cable routes agreed with the relevant suppliers.
- A schedule for decorating after installation and clearing decor before removal.
