Restaurant Stretch Tents for Rent
The math operators care about
Restaurant outdoor expansion is a covers-per-night equation. A 1,290 sq ft Hut^Flex 120 holds 80 seated. At average ticket plus beverage, that’s the dinner-service revenue line a restaurant is buying with the canopy — and the rental cost is approximately $1.50 per square foot, full-service install and take-down included.
That’s the version most operators run the numbers on. The qualitative version is shorter: rain doesn’t end service, the patio looks intentional rather than provisional, and the sandstone Bedouin canopy doesn’t fight the dining-room aesthetic the way a white-vinyl frame tent does.
What works for restaurant patios
- Hut^Flex 100 — 1,080 sq ft, small patios or overflow bar seating, 60-80 covers
- Hut^Flex 120 — 1,290 sq ft, standard patio extension, 80-100 covers
- Hut^Flex 150 — 1,615 sq ft, larger patios or multi-section dining, 100-130 covers
- Hut^Flex 216 — 2,325 sq ft, major patio expansion, 150-200 covers
Pair with side walls to define the dining zone and block wind, plus heating-cooling referrals for shoulder-season service.
Restaurant rental FAQ
CA fire certification — does the canopy meet code? Yes. The fabric is California fire certified, which is what matters for permitted commercial use in CA.
Does the install disrupt service hours? Setup runs roughly 6-8 hours. We schedule around your closed-day or off-hours so service isn’t interrupted.
Year-round use? Yes. The canopy is rated for continuous seasonal exposure. Side walls and partner heating extend the season into winter. Annual canopy inspection is recommended for permanent installs.
Permits and health-department coordination? We handle event permits as an add-on. For long-term outdoor-dining permits with health and city planning, the venue typically owns that thread; we coordinate the canopy-specific paperwork.
Are restaurants better off renting or owning? Owning makes sense if the canopy stays up year-round. For seasonal patio expansion (six months out, six months stored), rental is usually the cleaner model. Break-even on owning is around five events of comparable scale.
