In 2016, Yaroslav Korets came back from Burning Man looking for stretch tents to use at regional festival events he was running. The originals at the time were made in South Africa, expensive and slow to ship. He found a Chinese fabric supplier and ordered one of the first ready-made stretch tents to come out of that pipeline. The next year a few Ukrainian festivals asked for the same thing, so the team started sewing in-house. Every year since, we’ve shipped tents to Black Rock City. Some get sold to camps that take them home. Some come back to the warehouse in the dust.
That history matters when you’re comparing rental options. A standard event-tent company in SoCal does weddings on the weekend and sees a festival as the same job at a bigger scale. A stretch tent company that grew up at festivals knows the actual problem: rigging that has to take AV load, fabric that won’t tear in a 50-mph gust, paperwork that fire marshals will accept on a Friday afternoon, and an install crew that doesn’t lose its mind on day three of mud.
What we rent for festival operations
The single workhorse for festival main-stage is the Hut^Flex 180-rigging — same 1,940 sq ft footprint as a standard 180, but with reinforced rigging engineered for hanging trusses, line arrays, and decor weight. Use it any time something is going up in the air under the canopy.
For VIP areas, artist green rooms, or a second-stage shelter, the Hut^Flex 216 at 2,325 sq ft is the most-booked. Hut^Flex 300 (3,230 sq ft) is the largest single canopy in the line — popular for crowd-zone shelter and main hospitality. For multi-zone festival grounds, Hut^Flex Custom combines tents into U-shapes, L-shapes, or compounds covering whatever footprint your site map demands.
Almost every festival install also takes side walls for back-of-house, branded vendor booths, or weather-protected lounges.
Festival rental FAQ
Will the tent hold up in dust storms or heavy wind? We’ve shipped to Burning Man every year since 2016. Stretch tents tension across many anchor points, so they bend under gust loads instead of breaking like a rigid frame tent does. We pull tents down only if conditions exceed our safe operating window.
Multi-day install, how does that work? Typical festival deployment is 3-5 days for a single canopy, longer for compounds. We coordinate with your site lead on staging, load-in windows, and access. Take-down adds another day or two on the back end.
Can we hang lighting trusses or sound from the canopy? With the 180-rigging variant, yes. Standard 180/216/300 models aren’t rated for overhead loads — choose the rigging variant whenever AV will be suspended.
Is the tent fire-certified for permitted public events? Yes. CA fire certified, paperwork-ready for permit submittals. We supply documentation directly to the fire marshal’s office on request.
