Beach Stretch Tents for Rent
Why most event tents don’t survive a beach install
Sand doesn’t hold a stake. Salt eats unprotected hardware. The afternoon onshore wind shows up after the canopy is already standing. Most California public beaches prohibit driven anchors entirely. These four constraints are why standard frame tents don’t end up at coastal weddings — they fail one or more of the conditions before the event even starts.
Stretch tents address all four. Multi-point tensioning distributes wind load across many anchors instead of concentrating it on a peak, which is the same engineering principle that lets these canopies survive Burning Man’s playa where wind gusts can hit 60 mph. The fabric is salt-resistant, the rigging is stainless, and the anchoring system uses water-fillable barrels and engineered ballast — no stakes required.
What we run on the beach
- Hut^Flex 75 — 810 sq ft, sunset ceremony, ~50 seated
- Hut^Flex 120 — 1,290 sq ft, typical SoCal beach wedding (80-100 guests)
- Hut^Flex 180-rigging — 1,940 sq ft with reinforced rigging for windier exposure or hung AV
- Hut^Flex 216 — 2,325 sq ft, full reception under canopy
- Hut^Flex Custom — multi-tent compounds for beach festivals
Pair with anchoring add-ons for sand and paved coastal surfaces, plus side walls for evening marine-layer wind.
Beach rental FAQ
How is the tent anchored without stakes? Water-fillable barrels and engineered ballast, with load calculated from wind exposure and canopy area. We don’t use sandbags; they’re too light for stretch tent loads.
Wind tolerance? Stretch tents handle sustained wind well above standard event-tent ratings because the load distributes across many anchor points. We monitor forecasts continuously and recommend take-down if conditions push past safe operating limits.
Coastal Commission permits? We coordinate the submission with the venue or municipality. Permits typically take 4 to 6 weeks, so book early for permitted public-beach events.
Multi-day install possible? Yes. The fabric and rigging hold up across multi-day installs. Side walls and partner-supplied heating handle evening cool-downs.
Lead time for a coastal wedding? Six to eight weeks on private beaches; eight to twelve weeks if a Coastal Commission permit is part of the project.
