We check both orientations and allow about 10 ft for anchors on each side.
Numbers show guests per table. Dashed line: 2 ft chair allowance.
Standard rental tables, 2 ft beyond each table edge for seating, and at least 3 ft between seating zones. Dining only; allow extra covered space for a bar, buffet, dance floor or stage.
Layouts assume open sides. Poles and lowered edges can change usable space. Allow approximately 10 ft beyond each canopy edge for anchors; final installation space is confirmed after site review.
An illustrative starting point. We confirm furniture, pole positions, access and anchoring for your site. Furniture and flooring are shown for planning, not as included rental items.
For a seated dinner with 72-inch round tables, these are the smallest catalog models that fit the planner’s table and chair allowances. Each example is dining only.

Why table-specific numbers can differ from a general capacity: the table diameter, seating on the ends and clearances determine which layouts fit. The calculator and this table use the same model data and geometry.
Find a size for my event ↑Dining uses round or wood farm tables. Cocktail mode estimates open standing space. Dancing mode reserves a floor for all guests at 6 sq ft per dancer, with 3 ft paths and an 8 × 6 ft DJ zone. Dinner plus dancing needs a combined plan.
Dining layouts allow 2 ft beyond each table edge for seating and at least 3 ft between seating zones. Tables are placed inside the canopy, and the model’s published general seated estimate is an additional ceiling.
Starting clear-site estimate = canopy width + 20 ft, by canopy length + 20 ft. For a 33 × 33 ft canopy, allow approximately 53 × 53 ft. This adds about 10 ft on each side for anchors; the final installation depends on the site.
Poles, lowered canopy edges, furniture dimensions, access, trees, fences, pools, terrain and anchoring all affect usable space. The yard drawing is a centered example inside the rectangular clear area you enter. Share site photos, measurements and your full event brief to confirm placement.

Start with the event format, then your guest count and furniture. A seated dinner needs room for tables, chairs and circulation; a cocktail reception uses open standing space; a dance party needs a floor and DJ zone. Use the calculator above to compare actual catalog sizes, then check the full clear installation area in your yard. A guest count alone does not determine the final setup.
For 60 guests at 72-inch round tables, this planner recommends Hut^Flex 100: 33 × 33 ft, with six tables seating ten guests each. The starting clear-site estimate is 53 × 53 ft, including about 10 ft beyond each canopy edge for anchors. This is a dining-only layout. A bar, buffet or dance floor needs additional covered space.
See the 60-guest dining plan →For 100 guests at 72-inch round tables, this planner recommends Hut^Flex 150, 33 × 49 ft, with ten tables. Start with approximately 53 × 69 ft of clear installation space. This example covers seated dining only; a combined dinner-and-dancing reception requires a separate layout.
Explore the 100-guest example →The round-table options are 60 inches in diameter with 8 guests, or 72 inches in diameter with 10 guests. The wood farm-table options use an 8 ft × 40 in rectangular table: either 8 guests along the long sides, or 10 including one seat at each end. These are common US rental formats. Confirm your supplier’s actual table, chair and place-setting dimensions before finalizing a plan.
Table dimensions and seating on the ends change the layout. For 60 guests, 8 ft × 40 in farm tables with 8 seats each require Hut^Flex 120, 30 × 43 ft, in this planner. With 10 seats per farm table, the six-table dining layout fits the 33 × 33 ft Hut^Flex 100. Choose the seating arrangement your furniture supplier can provide.
Compare the eight-seat farm-table plan →The Hut^Flex 100 is the 33 × 33 ft model. This planner shows 60 seated guests at six 72-inch round tables, or 60 at six 8 ft × 40 in farm tables using the end seats. Its catalog cocktail estimate is 140 standing guests. These formats use the space differently; standing capacity is not a seated dinner capacity. The table below lists the other dining options.
View the Hut^Flex 100 and its layouts →Start with about 10 extra feet beyond every canopy edge for anchoring: add 20 ft to the canopy width and 20 ft to its length. A 33 × 33 ft tent therefore starts with an approximate 53 × 53 ft clear-site estimate. Enter the unobstructed rectangle in the backyard checker to see the yard, tent and anchor allowance together. Final space depends on the installation design and site review.
The calculator checks both orientations of each tent, including the anchor allowance. When a rotated orientation fits, the yard drawing shows that rotation. The centered position is an example, not a fixed installation location. Trees, fences, pools, steps, overhead obstructions, access and uneven ground are not modeled; share site photos and dimensions for a final placement review.
Cocktail mode uses the published standing estimate for each catalog model and shows an open reception zone. It does not place dinner tables or reserve furniture and service areas. High-top tables, a bar, buffet, lounge seating or stage take up space, so tell us which of those you want covered before confirming the tent size.
Dancing mode plans for every entered guest to dance at the same time, using 6 sq ft per dancer. It selects floor dimensions in 3 ft increments, reserves 3 ft perimeter paths, and includes an 8 × 6 ft DJ zone with a 3 ft gap from the floor. The drawing must fit inside the canopy and stay within the catalog standing estimate. It is a dedicated dance-party layout; dinner tables, a bar and a large stage need another plan.
Yes, a combined layout can be planned, but the calculator’s dining, cocktail and dancing options cover one format at a time. Share your guest count, table preference, dance-floor needs, bar and buffet requirements, and available site dimensions. We can check a larger model or linked tents around that full event brief.
Ask us to plan a combined reception →Dining plans reserve 2 ft beyond each table edge for seating and at least 3 ft between those seating zones. The recommendation also respects the model’s published general seated estimate. Drawings assume open sides and a usable rectangular canopy footprint; actual poles, lowered edges, service routes and furniture can change the final layout.
The furniture, flooring and DJ area are shown for planning. The calculator does not include those items in a rental package or price. Your quote should confirm which items and services are included, the event date, venue, installation and removal. You can save a PNG or SVG plan and carry your selected format, count and dimensions into the quote request.
